all the works on the factory floor, september 2012

The works I made during the "Porcelain Another Way" Symposium in Waldbzrych, Poland in 2012.
This time I worked at the factory of LAPP, a place where they make the huge porcelain insulators that are used with the transport of high voltage electricity.
The place itself is 'quite enormous', as are the rolls of porcelain. Intimidating even!
So I faced my unease with this overwhelming material. The result is big pots, each weighing between 25 and 35 kilo and having been fired for 3 days(!) to very high temperatures. The blue on the outside is pure molten cobalt-rock.
The pots are not pots, hence the title: ceci n'est pas un pot...

TOTAL different atmosphere, total different approach, and total different result in my ceramic art.
Quite something!
