ANU (Australian National University)
the first project with rapid prototyping (2001)
Thanks to the School of Art at ANU, Canberra, Australia, in 2001, I was allowed to play with their Rapid Prototyper. This was the first time something 'this big' was produced in that machine and it was quite exciting for us all.
The pot and cup were meant for the CEBIKO ceramic show in Korea, later that year and they were the only two non-ceramic objects in that show.
I made the pot, using the Deskartes software. Deskartes is one of the leading developers in the field of CAD/CAM with a very good software. It all went flawless, thanks to the great help I had from the engeneers at Deskartes who helped me with patches so I could do the things this software was not really meant for.
